We like to have simple New Years Eve foods in our home, it keeps things simple and allows more time to spend having fun and chatting with our friends:-) Last night I made english muffin pizzas and sweet and sour meatballs in the crock pot. We also had an assortment of delicious dips that one of our friends made and brought over. Here is what I made:-)
Ingredients:
3 packs (or however many you will need) of English Muffins
1 Jar of Traditional spaghetti sauce
1 green pepper diced
1/2 of a red onion sliced thin
Package of mini Turkey Pepperoni
1-2 packages of shredded cheddar cheese
parsley
Saute in a tbls of butter the green pepper and onion, sprinkle with some parsley. Slice the english muffins and spread them out on baking pans. Add about a spoonful of spaghetti sauce to each muffin. When onion mixture is ready place desired amount of onion and pepper mix on each muffin. Top with the cheddar cheese, add desired amount of pepperoni, sprinkle with a little more parsley and broil on low for about 5 min or until they look ready. They were delicious, we are a big fan of english muffin pizza!
My Sweet and Sour Meatballs were an easy recipe that probably many of you have made! All you need is a crock pot, 3 lbs (or however many you need for your crowd) of frozen traditional style meatballs, a jar of grape jelly and a jar and a half of chili sauce. Crock pot on low for 5-6 hours and serve, they are always a favorite! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and that this year brings peace, happiness and good health to all!
I used to love English Muffin pizzas when I was a kid. Except one time I put tomato paste on it instead of tomato sauce because I didn’t know the difference. One of the most traumatic food experiences of my childhood!
You have a beautiful blog! Thanks for writing it!!
That is totally hilarious!! We’ve all had those mishaps along the way I do believe!! And thank you for my blog comment! I am a completely new blogger, but I’m trying! And really I am just having fun with it and its a great way to share yet organize some of my favorite recipes while collecting more from fellow bloggers!! You’re blog is wonderful as well!
What cute little pizzas! I’ve used pita before but these are kid size and snack size. How perfect! And girl, those meatballs are STUNNING! I had no idea they were so easy to make! Grape jelly? Who knew? I think we have the same crockpot!
