I made a great taco pizza last night! We needed a simple dinner after dance class and we had pizza doughand ground turkey standing by! This recipe is so very simple and quick as well!
Ingredients:
1.25 lbs lean ground turkey
1 package of refrigerated pizza dough
1 lg clove of garlic
1 small onion cut into chunks
1 avacodo cut in small chunks
1 jar black bean & corn salsa( we love Newmans!)
1/2 can black beans (drained and rinsed)
1/2 package of shredded cheddar
1/3 cup water
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp of Italian seasoning
1 tsp dried calamari
Directions:
Pre-heat over as directed on dough package. Brown the ground turkey in a pan until no longer pink. Add the water and all the spices to the turkey and simmer until water evaporates. Spread and prep dough on a pizza stone. Spread salsa on dough (I used about 4 tbsp). Add the turkey mixture and onions and bake for about 10 min. Take out of oven and add the avacodo and cheese then ave back in over for another 5-10 min or until the dough looks cooked!
yum..love that you used turkey meat..looks lovely..sarah
Thanks Sarah, I appreciate the comment:-) We love ground turkey and try to substitute it for ground beef as often as possible, much less fat content and tastes yummy!
